Ashhisha was born and raised in Dubai to a loving Sindhi couple. Although she grew up far from India, she saw all the Sindhi festivals celebrated in her home with love and happiness during her childhood. Her parents always spoke in Sindhi at home and among friends, and actively participated in all cultural events in Dubai. Her love for Sindhi culture predominantly comes from many families who live abroad and were able to impart their culture and heritage to future generations.

As a mom of three and a dental professional, Ashhisha's real passion lies in bringing value to the community and connecting everyone together. Her active participation with the organization has brought many young adult Sindhis together.

Gautam Tahiliani comes with extensive experience in finance and accounting, having worked with large corporations in both Canada and the US. He enjoys making new connections and wants to make a positive impact on humanity.

He takes pride in his cultural heritage and wishes to give back to the Sindhi community by volunteering his services as a treasurer on the SCAT board.

Although Komal grew up outside of India, that did not deter her from loving her Sindhi heritage. Her inspiration and love for her culture came from her grandmothers who only spoke Sindhi and largely from her father (late Mohandas Asnani) who told of endless stories of the partition and his childhood.

She is committed to bringing Sindhiyat awareness to our young ones so that they too will love and feel proud of their heritage/identity.

Vrisha was born and raised in a small town called Devlali. She spent most of her life in St. Maarten, where she owned a jewelry business and was actively involved in the community. As a Rotarian, she served her community and also taught at Gurukul.

In 2017, she moved to Canada from St. Maarten and continued her passion for serving the community by joining SCAT in 2022.

Natasha Jasuja, a passionate Sindhi from Mumbai and Jalgaon, draws inspiration from her father Dr Gurumukhdas Jagwani, a prominent member of the Sindhi community, who has tirelessly served his people. Her father's passion and dedication motivate Natasha to give back to her community.

She moved to Canada in 2018 and is grateful to have the guidance of her father-in-law, Mr Arjun Jasuja, a well-respected member of the Indo-Canadian community, who has helped ease her transition to a new country. With their support, Natasha has recently opened her own school, Dearcroft Montessori, at Trafalgar Crossing in Oakville, and has another spa and wellness project in the works.

As an educator at SVKM’s Gurukul since its inception in January 2021, Natasha is dedicated to providing quality education and giving back to the community that has inspired her throughout her life.

Neeta was born and raised in Mumbai, she then lived in Dubai for 35 years as an insurance professional. She moved to Toronto and set up a new life in her mid-50s, which demonstrates her resilience.

She is well-loved by the community and is an excellent Sindhi cook, which helps her, her kids, and her grandkids stay connected to their Sindhi heritage. She is also a cancer survivor with an immense positive outlook on life, and her motto is to live life to the fullest.

Suraj Darra, a construction professional in Toronto, comes from Coimbatore, Tamilnadu, which has a thriving Sindhi community of about 2000 people. It boasts a Sindhi Mandir, a Danbar, a Sindhi community hall, a Sindhi bankers association, an active youth club, a ladies wing, and more. Suraj holds a Civil Engineering degree and studied and worked in the United States for five years before moving to Singapore for four years. He has called Toronto his home for the past six years.

Inspired by the community activities of the Sindhi Gurmandir and the previous S.C.A.T. boards, Suraj envisions connecting and integrating the Sindhi community in the GTA further. He also hopes to involve Sindhi newcomers. The S.C.A.T board gives him and his like-minded team the perfect opportunity to do so with fun events and fresh ideas.

Deepak is a proud Sindhi who was born and raised in Mumbai. After completing his MBA in Mumbai, he worked as an IT consultant with leading banks in India, the UK, and Canada.

During his time volunteering with Gurmandir activities, Deepak became inspired to further engage with the community. He joined the board with a strong desire to stay connected to the community and to be deeply rooted in the Sindhi culture.

Kavita Manyal has been involved in our Sindhi community for the last 19 years. She takes pride in being a Sindhi and is passionate about promoting our Sindhi culture and has been instrumental in starting Sindhi language classes and Matrimonial services in Toronto.
 
Besides serving on Gurmandir Temple Board and Sindhi Cultural Association of Toronto she has been actively volunteering at other community organizations in Greater Toronto area.
